The HGT Engineering website redesign was a complex process that involved extracting the content from a proprietary CMS system into WordPress. This was tedious as the original CMS wasn’t built with migration to WordPress in mind – or maybe it was, and done in a way to maximise the challenges…

The new site required a Woocommerce e-commerce platform with some awkward parameters:
- The default currency had to be Thai baht in order to connect to UPS live shipping rates.
 - The product pricing had to be in USD in all other countries and the main target market is USA and Australia.
 
Achieving this was done with the UPS Live Rates module from Octolise and the Aelia Currency Converter.
UPS connectivity was a problem from the get-go – not least because we were trying to implement this the week UPS changed from their legacy API system to REST API. We never did get any replies from their tech support department… and this remains an issue 6 months later. The Aelia Currency Converter is excellent…
